Monument Signage - Fort Snelling

The specification of this monument sign included 1/4” Stainless Steel, chemical milling, water jet cutting and paint filled lettering.  The architect/designer trusted JIT Companies to complete the intricate details of this impressive sign, which is now installed overlooking the Minnesota River and Fort Snelling, MN.

There were a number of processes that needed to be completed to capture the artists final vision for this sign.  JIT Companies first completed the chemical milling for the lettering as well as the bordering artwork.  Since the chemical milling process came before the water jet cutting in the fabrication process it required JIT Companies to program the CNC Water jet’s cut path to align with the chemically milled artwork on the SST material.  Placement of the material on the water jet’s cutting bed was also imperative to ensure that the cut path did not interfere or cut through the already existing artwork.  Once cutting was complete the lettering was paint filled and a decorative grind was added.  JIT Companies has extensive experience with this intricate fabricating process.  Our client’s trust our experience and technological know how to complete their unique projects where most other water jet companies wouldn’t even know where to begin.

outdoor signageJIT Waterjet has earned a good reputation for their fabrication of outdoor, monument signage. This particular project features waterjet cut aluminum letters, which were stud mounted from an aluminum lattice. What makes this project unique is that the lattice framework and large letters were rolled to form a precise radius to match the stone and brick structure. These types of services would be very challenging for any other waterjet job shop to provide. JIT took complete responsibility for design, fabrication and delivery of this project.
