The celebration for the new crucifix and stained glass at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Wayzata, MN had been advertised for the upcoming Sunday, Sept 6. On the Thursday before the celebration, the contractor was ready to install the rose window created by John Collier, a renown liturgical artist. However, they ran into a snag...
The beautiful, laminated, glass artwork would need to be cut and trimmed to fit into the constructed architectural opening. Within the hour, Hillstream LLC, the artists representative, highly recommended that the contractor contact JIT Companies. JIT Waterjet was the only water jet company that had the experience of working with one-of-a-kind, expensive artwork. JIT Companies was also expert in handling laminated glass. Plus, JIT had a reputation for doing whatever it takes to meet deadlines and could accomplish the job within a 24 hour period.

On the Friday before the celebration, the contractor arrived at JIT Companies with the 3/4” thick, laminated artwork and loaded it onto the water jet bed. The new dimensions had been programmed for the CNC water jet and the ill fitting window was cut to size within a matter of minutes. With the help of JIT Companies the contractor was able to meet their deadline and St. Bartholomew was able to celebrate the installation as scheduled. Give us a call to talk over the details of your part modification no matter what the material, specifications or deadlines.
A quote from John Collier, " My wife and I were driving through Iowa on our way to Minnesota when the installer of the window I had been working on for over a year called my cell phone," It doesn't fit" he said. I was in a panic. We were only hours away from the dedicatory Mass on Sunday where I was to get up and explain to the congregation what the window meant. If it weren't for JIT Companies quick service, my goose would have been cooked."
