Artist Rendering to Finished Art
A customized family memorial that would feature a family ring. The enlarged design would be made out of Stainless steel and slab glass and would be inserted into granite. James M Cota, the artist assisting the family with this project had completed the artwork on the replicated design and needed to locate a company that could fabricate both the one inch thick stainless steel and the one inch thick slab glass. JIT Companies was able to fulfill the niche.

James sent preliminary design concepts for the inlaid artwork. JIT Companies translated the drawn artwork into auto Cad and worked with James to engineer the installation variables and artistic features. Some of the unique specifications included:
- Cutting one inch thick slab glass pucks out of customer supplied material; programming the cuts to specifically utilize some unique imperfections within the glass
- The artist was able to specify a 3/16” joint to accommodate epoxy cement
- Both front and back would need to be polished as the inlay would be visible from both the front and back side.
- Epoxy cementing was handled by others. All parts as well as customer supplied, drop material was vacuum packaged to ensure nothing would be damaged in the return shipment to the customer.
Sundial
This sundial is a featured element in a memorial garden commemorating a former employee of the Chaska Community Center in Chaska, MN. JIT was asked to design a sundial using various design elements that had special meaning for this individual. Those elements included a Calla Lily, the sun and clouds. There was also poetic text that needed to be incorporated into the design.

The sundial was achieved by waterjet cutting the various elements from bronze plate. The poetic text was then hand milled into the bronze. Then the individual elements were layered and welded in such a manner so that the weld lines were invisible to the casual observer. The base was fabricated using steel and then it was powder coated with a bronze finish to match the sundial. The entire piece was finished off with a chemical patina to give it an aged look. In this instance installation was also provided by JIT.
